Need advices for an 11 days Honeymoon trip in France/Italy.

Hi! Me and my wife will be arriving in Paris on September 7th, 2017 at 07.05 from Bangkok and departing back to our hometown from Rome on September 18th, 2017 at 13.55

We have been in Paris a few times before and want to stay in Paris for 2 nights and do some shopping, eating and getting some photos taken as we will bringing along a Photographer friend with us.

Other places and cities we have been to already in France and nearby are Nice and Monaco. As for Italy, Rome is mandatory since we are departing from there. Wife is requesting for Florence and Milan, but not Venice because she has been there already and said it is pretty hectic traveling with baggages.

What route should we take and what cities should we stop by? We love to eat good food, both street and fine dinings, beautiful architectures and sceneries for photo taking. I am open to renting a car and driving if it's a better choice on some part of the route or taking the train otherwise. We want to make a trip that is at a moderate pace, not waking up too early and trying to jam all things into each and everyday.

We are happy to hear any suggestions, thank you very much.

Since you have been to the French Riveria, I suggest that from Paris you visit Strassbourg, France, on the German border, then you could take in the Black Forrest in Germany, visiting Baden Baden and Triberg. From there go into Switzerland, which has many options. My favorite place in Switzerland is Interlakken. From there you can enjoy the beautiful lake as well as go up the Youngfrau or other Alpine mountains. From there to Lucerne, then find you way to Milan, Florence and Rome.

Hi -
So according to your post, you'll arrive in Paris on the 7th and depart Paris on the 9th. This only gives you one full day (the 8th) for shopping and photos. That's OK with you? I see something like this:

9th: fly from Paris to Milan
10th: Milan
11th: train to Florence
12th: Florence
13th: Florence
14th: Train to Rome
15th: Rome
16th: Rome
17th: Rome
18th: fly home

With just 9 nights in Italy to work with, I think three locations is the maximum you can do if you don't want to hurry. You will lose 1/2 day in the relocation process every time you make a move so figure of those 9 nights/days, realistically you'll have 7.5 days for sightseeing.

How much time you want to spend in the cities on the list depends on how interested in you are in what they have to offer? For instance, if high-end shopping is a priority, you may want to take a day from Rome and add it to Milan. Rome, however, has a lot to see so unless a traveler is not at all interested its art and antiquities, I figure 3.5 days is the minimum amount of time one should spend there.

Same with Florence, although you could use one of your 2 full days there to day-trip to Siena, Lucca or Pisa.

I would say add another night to Paris so you can daytrip to Chartres or Reims, then fly from Paris to Milano for a couple of nights, train to Firenze for perhaps three nights, end in Roma with the remaining nights. I don't think you have time to travel through France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy in 11 nights.
