We have 2 weeks, flying in and out of Munich. Please help me decide where to allocate time! Current plans include Munich, Salzburg, Vienna, Budapest, Prague. Interests include history, architecture and cathedrals, and FOOD! Thank you so much.

I prefer to travel as efficiently as possible and that is to cities with the best train .connections. I would suggest dropping either Prague or Budapest. We are more comfortable in Budapest, and it is more inexpensive to stay in.

As David indicates, Munich > Salzburg > Vienna > Budapest is a pretty straight route and every train ride is under 3 hours. Prague to Munich is 4.5-5.5 hours depending on the train. So I would also recommend skipping it. With 14 nights, Munich (3-4N), Salzburg (2-3N), Vienna (3-4N), Budapest (3-4N), then fly to Munich (1N) for your return flight. I don't see enough time for Prague, especially since you are flying R/T Munich.
