Has anyone tried the Eagle Creek neck pillows and are they better than those on Rick's site?
Good luck. I have never found a neck pillow that works for me.
I have Rick's pillow. Maybe called deluxe? It has a piece that you are supposed to rest your head on. Anyway, I took it on my first trip and have not bothered since then. I don't know what the Eagle Creek pillow is like.
Haven't tried Eagle Creek, but Rick's neck pillow was terrible. Totally useless.
The only pillow I have used is the Nap pillow, which I got at Brookstone. I'm very happy with it.
I too have a Brookstone pillow. I find, however, that I tend not to use it as intended. I use it, I just don't find the U-shape functional for me.

I never found one that worked for me, either. And who wants to tote it around all over Europe (inflatable ones are pretty useless)?
Thanks everyone for the input. I probably won't get one. We are planning to take one of Rick's tours and I don't think I want to sleep my way across Europe!!Too many things to see!! :)
I swear by the neck pillow, even if it takes up valuable space (I always carry on only). I don't really sleep on flights, more like 10 min catnaps in a twilight/rest mode. The pillow is good for that, it is good for trains, however for me it is invaluable at hotels.
I frequently use it as a supplement to the often lame pillows you find in 2 star-ish hotels. The worst offendor is that large log pillow, which I find hard to sleep with. Slip the neck pillow on top of it (not around my neck) and under my head, and it makes a annoying situation quite manageable.
The nap pillow weighs nothing. I just hook it around the handle of my carryon, so it takes no space in my luggage.
I forgot it on my last trip to Europe, and I had a miserable flight over. Could not sleep and could not get comfortable. It works for me, but that doesnt' mean it will work for everyone.
I LOVE the Bucky pillow. My best friend "made" me buy it, said I wouldn't be sorry, I threatened to make her pay for it if I didn't like it. Needless to say...Yes, it's a pain sometimes, but it's great on flights, as well as some hotels where the pillows just aren't to my liking. It saved her (friend's) life when we went to Vietnam, and all we got was 1 little pillow.
Can't recall the brand...and it's packed away right now, but it's a blow-up with terry cloth cover, and it's comfy when blown up only partially so that it's maneuverable.
Oh, I would never use on RS tour bus...too much to see out those great big windows! Ciao! Have fun!
A down or fleece jacket jammed into a stuff sack works equally well and the sack will just about fit in a matchbox if you don't need it for anything else.
My favorite travel pillow is the Skyrest Travel Pillow (bought it on Amazon.com). It's not really a neck pillow, but I love it! I'm 6' tall and can't ever get comfortable enough to sleep on planes, so I arrive at my destination miserable, tired and cranky. When I flew to London and used this pillow, I got probably 3 hours of solid sleep plus a few more naps. It was truly a travel miracle! And I was happy when I got off the plane. It does take up a bit of room uninflated, but for me it's worth it! Don't blow it up all the way though--much more comfortable blown up only 2/3 to 3/4 of the way.
Rick's pillow sucks - we've bought two and quickly threw them both out.
I found a pillow that actually seems to work, at least somewhat: the inmflatable "Komfort Kollar" from Magellans. It goes all the way around you neck and (mostly) keeps you head from flopping over. Not perfect, but a lot more effective than any other I've tried (which is more than a few). Collapses down tiny when not inflated.
Magellan's has an inflatable Komfort Kollar that gives more support than any of the other pillows we've tried.
Can't speak to Rick's but having tried a few the Eagle Creek is my favorite. That said, they still aren't the best things ever LOL!
I love neck pillows, can't fly without them. I just get the cheap inflatable ones from anywhere,,, they are almost disposable,, and they pack to nothing since they are disposable, I took two on last trip.
I don't think paying more for a fancy pillow ensures greater comfort. I do tend to underinflate the pillows, and I also use then in hotel rooms when given hard or too big pillows.
