I have a brother and sister-in-law who have been really interested in traveling lately, and I wanted to get them a travel themed gift for Christmas. We got a really nice world travel map with pins to document our travels a few years ago, but I couldn't find anything like it within our price range now. Then my husband found some "scratch off" maps on amazon.com, and I think it is such a different idea! The map is a thick photo-like paper covered in a gold layer that you can scratch off over the places you've traveled, just like on the lottery tickets. We haven't received it yet, but the reviews are good and I thought it was such a cool and unusual idea that I had to order one for them. I thought I would pass this on for anyone looking for a gift for a traveler who already has everything!
That looks like a fun gift! Are you giving them Europe thru the Back Door too, lol?
I am saving that for when they finally head to Europe - they've been focusing on Central and South America. I've got to spread my gifts out because they are so hard to shop for! :)
This is a neat idea!
Thanks for posting this, Tamara. I added one to my Amazon order yesterday. It's a gift to me. What fun!
my 22 yr old daughter is a travel nut, and I just bought her a solar powered phone charger, and an inflatable over the shoulder pillow/neck support for the plane. I also put those 2 items on my Christmas list!
