Nearest Metro line

I am checking out a hotel in this neighbourhood, and wondering if there is a direct line to CDG from here.

Also, we come in on the 5th at Montparnasse station, can we get a direct train to this location?

www.ratp.fr is the website for Paris Metro. If you put in your start and destination, it will not only tell you the connections but the time. Language "buttons" are on the upper right.

Eli: I deduce from the address of your hotel on Richard Lenoir that your are just steps away from Place de La Bastille. From Bastille you can take Metro Line 5 to Gare du Nord and then the RER Line B to CDG.

From the Gare du Montparnasse there is no easy metro journey to Bastille. You can, however, take Bus No. 91, which begins at Montaparnasse and terminates at Bastille. You can walk from there to your hotel.

I hope you will have bus/metro maps and a Paris map with you when you arrive.

According to the maps at Google and viamichelin.com, Bastille is not the closest metro station to your hotel.

Take metro line 6 from Montparnasse-Bienvenue to Place d'Italie. Transfer to metro line 5 and take it to Breguet-Sabin (one stop beyond Bastille).

To get to CDG, take metro line 5 from Brequet-Sabin to Gare du Nord and transfer to the RER B. Be aware that the RER B line divides northeast of Paris. Be sure to get on a train that is going to CDG.

To get to CDG from 18 Place d'Italie take Metro line 5 from Place d'Italie to Gare du Nord and the RER B from there to CDG.

I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't be safe on the street at night anywhere in the Latin Quarter.

Tim, my husband was under the impression that we wouldn't have to go to Gare du Nord and change, but we could go from Place d'Italie direct to CDG, is he missing something?

He said Metro 6 to Denfert Rochereau, then get on RER B. Can this be done?

I would choose the Denfort-Rochereau route. I avoid Gare du Nord whenever possible. By going thru D-F You'll be getting on the RER before it gets too crowded, and that station is easier to navigate.

Okay, don't get annoyed with me, but we haven't booked a place yet for our two nights in Paris. I was waiting on a place we used in Montparnasse last year which we loved, but there is no availability yet. Anyway, today I found yet another "potential" which seems even better since it has a kitchenette and with my gluten problems, this could be a life saver.

The address is: 18 Place d'Italie. From what I could work out, we should have a much easier time getting to CDG?

I am not too familiar with the Latin Quarter. Think we went by there pretty quickly. Is that area safe to go in and out at night?

Eli,

You cannot go directly from Place d'Italie to CDG. Connecting to the RER B at Denfert-Rochereau indeed would be simpler than connecting to it at Gare du Nord, but in either case you'll have to make one connection from the Metro to the RER.

There is a bus for 8 EUR that runs express between CDG and Opera (which is centrally located). It is very easy to access to/from the metro.

Thanks Tim. Do you know anything about that station i.e. more stairs than say GDN? I am not sure we ever went through there.

I've never used the Denfert-Rochereau station. However, since it's served by only three lines, it has to be a lot easier to make connections and require less walking there in comparison to Gare du Nord.
