Navigating Scandinavia With Lighter Luggage

Hi - we will be flying into Oslo on November 2, leaving Oslo on the 10th. We plan on exploring Norway for a few days, then visiting Stockholm and Copenhagen before returning to Oslo on the 9th. Because my wife likes to pack heavy, we'll be taking a lot of luggage. Are there any places in Oslo where we can "store" the bulk of our luggage while we take lighter bags to the other places? We were thinking about flying to the other destinations instead of taking a train. Any suggestions/comments are appreciated! Thanks.

Hmmm? I don't get it. If you're going to take lighter bags to the other places before returning to Oslo, what good does it do to have big luggage stored in Oslo that you can't get to until you return? It looks like you only have 9 nights in Scandinavia. You could easily do that with 1 carry-on and 1 personal item each and not have to store anything.

Your trip is very short. How many days do you intend to spend in each of the 3 cities? How many in the rest of Norway and where? What do you plan to see in each location?

Keep in mind that the days will be short and it will be cold. Click here for more details on that. Choose your cities, switch to Imperial (°F) and explore. You'll need to dress for the weather, including good footwear for possible slippery conditions.

We have booked the same Oslo hotel for our post arrival nights and our pre-departure nights. The Thon budget hotels in Oslo and other Oslo hotels have been accommodating. We left our extra luggage and ski bags at the hotel in their left luggage storage room. We had the best of two worlds. City clothing and shoes for Oslo while keeping our packs light for our week in the mountains.

I have used citystasher.com in Scandanavia as well as other countries. They list small businesses that earn a little extra cash storing luggage. Fully insured.

Hello Mike. That is a total of seven (7) whole days at Europe, before you return to Oslo. I recommend that you travel in Norway, only. Travelling from Oslo to Stockholm would use one day. Travelling from Oslo to Copenhagen would use one day. Travelling from Copenhagen to Oslo would use one. Day. I traveled in those three countries. I loved Norway.
