Narrow Walking Shoes

I am heading to Europe in a few months and have tried to find some really good walking shoes -- Ecco, Mephisto, etc. Unfortunately, I can not find any in a narrow size, say, 10B or a narrow 43. Any suggestions?

Bill, have you tried SAS shoes? They are well made (US) and come in all kinds of sizes. Many highend shoe stores carry them and they have outlets in malls across the country.

Hey Bill
Have you tried the specialty department at a Nordstroms? Don't know if you have on in your area but they have a shoe section for hard to fit feet. Before size 6 1/2 was a popular size I use to get shoes from them. Also check out Zappos.com ifyou know exactly what you want they may have it. Good luck.

Hi Bill. Beware of uncomfortable Ecco shoes, and many other European shoes. Many European shoes for men fit tight at the top of the foot. One of the Rockport walking shoes made of leather is of the European style : it fits tight at the top of the foot. It is uncomfortable. If you are searching for a low price, recently a mail - order catalog had Redwing walking shoes (brown or black leather) that are comfortable casual shoes that look like they could be dress shoes, for a price of approximately
$ 16. plus shipping fee. (Those shoes would have a retail price of $99. or higher, plus sales tax, in a retail store. I think you will find shoes in a narow size.

Thanks, guys. I checked out Zappos.com and found several New Balance possibilities. Unfortunately, SAS is not handled by Zappos.com, but I found an SAS outlet not too far away. I will be stopping at both the SAS and the New Balance stores and am now confident about finding something that fits.

Once again, thanks.

Bill,
You may also want to check into Merrell's. They may have what you're looking for. I love my Elements, but since they're not sold new any more, I bought my recent pair on ebay.
