We are tentatively going to Sorrento spring 2020. Flying from the West Coast to Rome, then train to Naples, and ground transportation to Sorrento all in one day seems too exhausting. We have status with British Air, so want to fly the international legs with British Air. We are flexible with whom we fly inside Europe.
So- our first option would be to fly into a European city, and explore the surrounding areas for about a week, [e.g. Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, etc.,] that then have a direct flight into Naples. However, I'm having difficulties finding all the European cities that Naples airport serves directly.
From past experience, one of you all has mastered this query and will post the appropriate link that I've been searching. Please help.
We would then return home out of Rome.
Thanks so much and safe travels!
Look up Naples International Airport in Wikipedia. It has all the current destinations and airlines including new and seasonal routes.
I did check Wikipedia and found some errors. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond .
I usually use wikipedia like jazz+travels suggests.
Another thing you could try is the ”Explore the World” option on Kayak.

You enter your departure city, date, and nonstop and it will show you cities and prices.
British Airways and Easyjet both fly from London to Naples.
Check Aer Lingus from Dublin. I flew with them to Naples several years ago.
Also, google Naples airport and see which airlines it serves. I am sure British airways fly there too, likely from London.
FYI: BA does fly London - Naples, but last time I flew/checked, the flight was to/from Gatwick, not LHR. For our return flight, we went out of Naples to Gatwick, then took a cab to LHR, so needed to leave plenty of time between flights.
Just lookup the Naples airport website. Good overview picture.
My favorite website to use in such situations is skiplagged.com. You enter the airport that you will be departing from, the date and select "Anywhere" as your destination. You then get a listing of all the cities that are accesssible to you from that location. Direct and non-direct flights are listed, but by scrolling down the list, it's easy to eliminate the non-direct flights. In your case, I would look for flights from Naples in order to identify what airlines have direct flights to specific cities in Europe, and then I would work in reverse (if that makes sense).
Our Easyjet flight to Naples from Luton (?) was scheduled late enough that we couldn’t really get to Sorrento that night. So we planned to spend the night in Naples. Check local transportation time both ways in Campagnia.
United has a summer flight from the NYC area to Naples in 2019.
Try this link: https://openflights.org/#
Once you input the name of the airport, it gives you a visual map of all the airports that you can reach from that location. Then if you click on any of the destination airports you can see detail of the airline(s) flying that route.
love this website https://www.flightsfrom.com/
Another useful tool, especially since it has good coverage of European short-hop budget carriers.
On its home page, choose One Way and enter Naples (or Catania). Then, in the 'To' box, enter a country or check 'Everywhere'.
It will show many choices and links to sellers. Often they are agencies. I prefer to buy from the originating airline if possible.
A non-stop flight is best. Many budget lines do not link with one another, so a transfer is like starting fresh at the second airport. There's no protection if the first flight runs late, either. Skyscanner marks these routes by a red warning, 'Self-transfer'.
Thank you all for these very helpful links, which are giving me the exact info I need.
Safe travels!
