Name Change not working for me.....

Sorry, friends, but this "Franklin" isn't working for me. Too formal. Too strict. The only ones who call me Franklin are the government and my father when he was mad at me...so....another change is in the works....my two top picks are: Frank II or Frank, The Sequel. (Again, I deferring to Frank in Colorado to be the only "Frank" on the board who is also a regular poster.

Thoughts?

Well, of those two, I'd pick Frank II (sounds almost regal!)....but I still like "Frankie".....like Sinatra in the days of the Rat Pack.

Well, if Franklin is too formal, Frankie is way too informal-sounds like some street punk (no offense meant). How about Franque; that has just the right amount of mystery and reflects your status as an experienced world traveller.

I like Frank II -- but Franque is kind of intriguing, too.

Say it ain't so?!?! I was just getting used to Franklin. OK, hang in there, we're all your friends (we are, right?) and we're here to help you with this dilemma. We have to do this right and make sure we have done the best for you. So let's get the names out there and make sure we got the right one.

Here's what I have based on the previous post:

Frank II / Frank, The Sequel / Frankie / Franco / Francois / Francesco / Charlemagne, King of the Franks / Freewheeling Franklin / Mr. Roosevelt / The Poster Formerly Known As Frank / Frankfurt

New entry:

The Poster Formerly Known As Frank again to be Known as Frank

BTW: What did you decide on the shorts?

I agree that Franklin is way too formal--my vote is for Frank II.

HA! We know who has raised kids in the last 15 years or so,, Franklin is not formal,, it is cute, as in ..

Franklin the Turtle.
Franklin the turtle is a lovely young boy turtle whos friends are bears , geese, and other sweet woodland creatures. Franklin usually listens to his mother and father, but does get into scrapes.. but it always works out in the end.

All my kids loved Franklin, and I loved him too, he was never mouthy or rude, and was only naughty occaisonally,, LOL

I agree, Frank, I can't relate to you as Franklin. What about just Frank USA all on the same line. ( I like Frank Lee, too, frankly.)

Have to say I was not that fond of Franklin, but why don't you pick some nickname that goes with Frank, that defines more of who you are. Perhaps something with your state, like I could be Buckeye Jo, or Miss Jo, or Chef Jo, or Smokin' Jo, and well, you get the message.

I once had a website that would generate nicknames for you. Not just any nickname, but a Mafia nickname. That was fun! I will see if I have it bookmarked someplace and then send it to you.

Oh dear, just when I got used to Franklin.

How about Franco? Or Frank(initial) for last name?

The consensus is mixed but it looks like Frank II has the most votes. (I didn't expect this many people to respond.) Some of the others were good...but..I want to keep it simple..so..

So....I'm changing it to Frank II

I dunno bout Frank II, sounds too much like a deli - "Gimme 2 Franks to go"

Hey I'll have a beer with my 2 Franks, mustard & relish too...

We have to work on that one, ok?

I think you, and the rest of us, will bore quickly with Frank II. Frank, the Sequel seems more suited to you...but if you really want to break out I'd suggest Francois.

So if John can change his name to Gonzy, maybe we're all looking at this wrong. Maybe keeping it in the "Frank..." mode isn't right. I think we have alot more leeway than we thought.

So Frank, tell us about yourself to point us in another direction.

How about " FRANK " in caps. That way we could enjoy you as Capital FRANK

And I thought Frank II sounded royal, as in, Frank the Second.

Would you prefer Frank Deux?

I don't want to make it a European name as newcomers might think I come from there and might know something.

I like Frank II--try it out for a couple of days and see if it suits you!

Frank II sounds very royal, like monarchy.

Now I need to change my name :-(

Someone thought I was a gay male (because I mentioned having a husband)!

It seems that most new posters think I'm male. Not that I care, but since Frank aka Franklin aka FrankII finally found his name, maybe it's time for me to rethink?

Being down with the flu leaves one lots of idle time to ponder. I am not so sick as to be out of it, but not well enough to do much...sigh. Hate this time of year!

Eli- sorry to hear you've had the flu. I had it too and it seems really bad this year. Stick with Eli- I thought it was a male at first, too, but quickly reealised it was El-ee not E-LI!

Thank you for all of your input both here on the board and in PM's....however...at this point...I'm leaving it at Frank II.
