Mystery Solved - Wells Fargo Fees

Hi - I posted a question back in mid July regarding Wells Fargo Visa/Debit Card fees. I heard several different versions from many Wells Fargo Employees. I am ready to leave this weekend for my 21 day trip through Europe and I finally found the answer. Directly from the Wells Fargo site it says it all. $5 for each ATM withdrawal. 3% fee if I use my card to make purchases/ like a visa card. I also learned from a Wells Fargo employee: $3 fee if I go into a bank and ask for a cash advance using my debit card. That's it, 3 separate fees for 3 separate ways to use my card. I hope this helps anyone who was just as confused as I was.

Happy Travels: I have a permanent smile on my face knowing I depart in a few days........FINALLY!! :)

Did you find out what the per-day maximum amount is for ATM withdrawals? With a $5 fee for each withdrawal, you sure wouldn't want to be making numerous small withdrawals! Yikes! Although my backup ATM card from Wachovia is worse: $2 per withdrawal plus 2%! Hope my other one works and I never have to use the Wachovia card when I go next month.

I think each ATM will have a different or similar ATM withdrawal amount - I went to my WF branch manager and requested they increase my daily ATM withdrawal amount just for the duration of my trip. They did it as I was sitting there, painless.

Because I am going on a RS tour, most of my expenses are already paid for - I will just need spending money, so I'm confident I will be able to put enough euros in my pocket without racking up a lot of fees.

Au revoir

Thanks Henry - I have double and triple and quadruple checked. I am sure the only charges I will incure are those set forth on the WF web-site. Thanks for the info.......
