It seems to be generally advised to get museum tickets for the Riksmuseum and Van Gogh museum before going to avoid the lines. If you get the Museum Ticket which permits admission to multiple museums, can you also go in without waiting on line? Thanks.

To be honest, I do not know, but in several trips to both museums, I do not recall long lines or delays. The line seemed to move through, almost with no delay. The line to the Anne Frank house seemed to be the worst.

I would get my tickets in advance as the VGM had a long line to get into the museum. The VGM had a time set on the ticket for admission and we just walked in at the set time. The Riks museum was with a tour group which was taken care of by the tour group leader. As a general rule if I can buy my tickets online this is the best way to make sure you get into the museum w/o waiting a long time in line.

In my 2 visits to the Rijksmuseum, I think I waited 1 minute to buy my ticket. Neither visit was in the summer, though.

The Museumkaart let us pass the block-long line for the Van Gogh Museum (in November!). It was worth it just for that.
