We are going to Paris in a week. I ordered 2 museum passes on line last night and am to pick them up at place not too far from our hotel when we arrive on 7/30. The e-ticket and confirmation are written in French so it's a little difficult to read. I can tell the confirmation says date ordered was 7/23/11 and then it says Date: 7/27/11. We aren't going to be in Paris until 7/30 and I need to pick them up then. I don't know if I put the wrong date in when I ordered or if they made an error. I've tried e-mailing them twice and there is no phone number on the confirmation. What do I do??? I want to make sure I can get my museum passes without any trouble on 7/30 since I've already paid for them. Thanks!!!
Lorena, Not that it helps now, but it would have been much easier just to buy the Passes when you arrived in Paris. I'd suggest showing the E-ticket and confirmation to the Staff when you check into your Hotel. I'm sure they'll be able to get the arrangements sorted. Happy travels!
I can understand your concern but I'm guessing it won't be a problem. Museum Passes don't count days until you begin using them for entry to a museum. So if you pick yours up on 7/30, it shouldn't matter if the purchase date says 7/27.
Doug is correct. I purchased mine at the airport before going to my hotel (I bought a four day pass) but I didn't start using it until two days later. The four days do not start until you use it for the first time.
I suggest not getting a museum pass until the day you would use it. I got one on a trip but didn't get around ti visiting a museum - so the next trip I asked to activate it and they expired all passes. Always read the fine print and know that things can change...
I'm going to guess ('cause that's all I can do) that when you show up with your confirmation, someone is going to simply reach into a desk drawer or a big box and pull out a non-validated pass...that's what they do when you buy them there. It's not like it's personalized for you. I wouldn't worry about it; you've done all you can do about it. Come back on and let us know what happened!
Just returned from our trip to Paris and as you all said...I had nothing to worry about. Walked up, showed my voucher and they handed me the two day pass and it was valid the day I signed it. We had a wonderful time and I definitely recommend the pass. It was a great feeling just walking by the longer lines and going right into the museums. I would just buy it at the hotel next time instead of ahead of time on line
Thanks!
Yea!!! Glad you had a great time.
