Munich - Vienna - Prague Train vs. Car Rental

We have a family of five traveling to the above cities. We plan to use VRBOs and are still vacillating between renting a car or taking the train. The main problem I see with the train is what to do with our luggage if we've checked out of the VRBO and still have time to do something in that location. For instance, on our last day in Munich, we are going to Dachau. We have plenty of time to take the train for the morning tour. However, we would have to check out of the VRBO before we leave. If we have a car, we can leave the luggage in there. Is there a way to check luggage at the main rail stations in each of these cities? Anybody know another way of handling it differently?

Thanks for any insights!

... you can put your luggage in a locker at the main station (Hauptbahnhof). Access is from the main platform opposite tracks #24 to 26. There is also a left luggage office, somewhat hidden at the very end of the lockers rooms.

All train stations have luggage-size lockers. You don't want to drive this route - trust me. There are certain trips where a car is a good idea. This is not one of those trips.

And you really don't need, or want to have, a car in any of the cities.

And one way international car hire (picking up in Germany, dropping off in the Czech Republic) is likely to incur a large surcharge.

That was super helpful, everyone. Thanks so much!

I haven't been to Europe in 20 years but I had thought there was luggage storage at the Hauptbahnhof. This is very good news.
