Munich, Salzburg, and Wengen in a 10 day trip?

My wife and I are planning our honeymoon and our initial plan is as follows:

September 16: arrive in Munich/munich day
September 17/18: Oktoberfest/munich days
September 19: travel day to Salzburg/Salzburg day
September 20: Salzburg day
September 21: travel day to Wengen
September 22/23: Wengen days
September 24: travel day back to munich
September 25: head home

Does this plan seem reasonable, or should Wengen or Salzburg be removed? Not sure if it’s smart having so many traveling days.

Have you already purchased the plane tickets? If not, flying into Munich and out of Zurich would be easier. Or- if you want the Alpine experience without so much travel, spend a few days in beautiful Berchtesgaden, about an hour outside of Salzburg.
Safe travels!

I think the amount of days you have is fine but I would suggest open jaw. Fly into Munich and out of Zurich or vice versa. Then you can add that travel “back” day to another day in Munich or wengen and less travel time. You could also day trip it to salzburg from Munich it’s only 2 hours by train. All depends on your interests and what you want to do and see

Then if it were me I would replace wengen with something closer and easier to get to in the alps. Like Garmisch-Partenkirchen

I really love the Salzburg area. It’s a quick train ride from Munich. I’ve spent 10 nights there and could easily return for more. So much beauty in the area if you choose to skip Wengen this time and spend more time there. Check out: Hallstatt, Berchtesgaden, Werfen (fortress and ice caves). And Salzburg itself is a beautiful city.

Thank you all for the responses. I was kind of excited about seeing Wengen, the views looked unbelievable, but based on the comments I think I will remove that leg of the trip and probably take the suggestions mentioned above and add in Vienna as well. That will probably lessen the travel load.

Yes Switzerland needs its own trip. I have been to Munich and Salzburg once but the area around Wengen (the Berner Overland) 4 times; it is one of the only areas in travel that I find repeatable

Munich, Salzburg, and Vienna will be a great trip. We went in 2019 and traveled by train. In Vienna be sure to see the Schonbrunn Palace. The gardens are gorgeous!
