Good day to you, I am planning to travel to Europe with my family ( 2 children and my wife) by the first week of July 2013 for a 15 day tour. Kindly guide me with the following itinery, we will be arriving from Dubai to Munich by flight Munich to Prague
Prague to Vienna /bratislava - Zurich And from Zurich to Dubai Kindly guide me with a budget itinery including hotels and travel..
Shanz, I have a few initial comments to offer regarding your proposed Itinerary. > Munich to Prague is easily done either by train or Bus. Check the German Rail website for more specific information. > The same website will provide information on travel from Prague to Vienna (I'm not sure with only 15 days that you'll have time for Bratislava). > The trip from Vienna to Zürich will be about 8 hours via Rail Jet train (no changes), so you'll need to allocate a FULL travel day for that. When you book your airline flights, choose the open-jaw (multi-city) option. I haven't checked but it should be easy to fly inbound Munich and outbound Zürich. I'm assuming you don't have access to Rick Steves Guidebooks in your location? They have good listings for Hotels in all the places you'll be visiting. You could also check Trip Advisor. You'll first need to determine which part of each city you want to stay in. I generally try to choose Hotels that are close to the main rail station as that makes transportation much easier. A few suggestions (you did ask for "budget" accommodations).... > Munich - Hotel Royal > Prague - Green Garland Pension > Zürich - Walhalla Hotel One final question. Is there a particular reason you're visiting Zürich? There are other cities that are much nicer (IMO), such as Lucerne. If you want mountain scenery, the Berner Oberland (just outside Interlaken) is an excellent choice. One caveat though - Switzerland is NOT a budget destination. I was there in September and found it VERY expensive. Good luck with your planning!
