MP3 recharging without computer hook up

I have a cheapie Samsung MP3 player. They don't carry a recharger that plugs into an outlet. Anyone know of a generic recharger that I could buy, with an adapter and converter so I can take my player to Europe? I don't want to find an internet cafe and pay for an hour for it to charge..

On this Graffiti Wall, there is a section on Technology Tips--listed under "plan your trip." You should find what you need to know there.

Take it to radio shack or the like to see if they have a universal AC adapter, mine did not come with 1 (it also charges usb) and I didn't want to hunt for a place to plug in/charge it.

IF it plugs into a USB port to charge, You can use a cell phone charger designed for the Motorola Razr or slvr. Pick one up on ebay for $5-$10 and all you will need is a plug adapter as the charger will work on 120-240v

I checked out Swan's tip to go to the Graffiti Wall and found some good info there, I can get a USB port adapter for under $15 and also found a link for a teeny tiny speaker for $10 I am going to get, thanks Swan!

Also try eforcity.com, they carry a wide selection of "generic" adaptors at very reasonable prices. Look under the "Ipod" section - they have a Samsung section. Make sure whatever you buy is dual voltage and you take the proper plug adaptor. I used their Universal USB travel charger ($8.39) in Italy and it worked great.

I know you posted a while ago, but this may be helpful. My husband went to Radio Shack and purchased a charger that runs on AA batteries. For our iPods he purchased a little adapter in addition. We have tested it at home...we leave in a week for Spain...and it worked like a charm. Good luck.

thanks CL and Chris for the tips, I didn't know there was a battary operated recharger, but now I don't have time to order anything before I go. I might go to Radio Shack though and check that out.
the outlet charger I found I think is dual voltage, I couldn't be positive, the printing on the thing is so tiny it is hard to read but I am pretty sure it says '120-240' thanks all! I need to update my mp3 player with my Italian for Dummies lessons now!
