MP3 player charging

I am not sure if this has been asked but I need some help.

The last few times I have gone to Europe I take my XM radio which works as a MP3 player as well. This issue is the power adaptor only comes in a 120 so I have to hall over the convertor box with me to charge the battery.

I have been looking at the Ipod shuffle as it is very small but does this need a convertor box to charge as well or is the charging device 220/120?

Ryan,

You should be able to charge IPods using a USB Charger such as www.amazon.com/Apple-Power-Adapter-iPod-White/dp/B000IK5XWW. Other manufacturers also offer USB Chargers, including Logiix, Belkin, and others. You'll need to purchase the optional Cable unless you already have one.
For use in Europe, of course you'll require a Plug Adapter as well.

You should also be able to use Rick's Universal Adaptor for charging USB devices (the appropriate Cable would be required). Have a look at travelstore.ricksteves.com/catalog/index.cfm?fuseaction=product&theParentId=126&id=423 for the details.

You might also have a look at the IPod Nano versions, as they're a bit more versatile and not too much more expensive. The IPod Touch models are the MOST versatile, as they allow web surfing and E-mail in locations where Wi-Fi is available. The small screen and keyboard are a bit awkward to use, but despite that it works surprisingly well.

Cheers!

If the iPod Shuffle uses the standard Apple AC adapter/charger (which it should), then you will only need the plug adapter and not a power converter.
