MP3 and/or IPods and Charging

Hi, I'm not quite up to the 21st. century yet. I'm doing RS Europe's tour in September. I'm not sure which would be best to use as I've been unable to get a sense of sucess with charing them in Europe. It's been of mix of good and bad with the adapters and chargers. I'd be grateful for any input! Thanks!

Alan, take a look at the Graffiti Wall on this website. There is a whole section on iPod and MP3 player tips. Should be helpful in answering your post.

Alan,

Don't worry too much. Most electronic device power adapters are 120-240V. Just check the label on the transformer (the black box with the plug on it). Then go and pick up some adapters for the plugs state-side if you can (they are cheaper here) and charge away!

If your devices are not already 120-240 compatable, then you will need a voltage converter. I haven't needed a converter yet for my cell phone, computer, pocket pc, etc.

Happy travels!

Dan

Alan,

I've travelled with two different IPod models in the past few years, and haven't had any problems at all with charging. I bought a small Sonnet Travel Charger and use that for charging both at home and in Europe. Check www.sonnettech.com/product/usbwallcharger.html for details.

You will of course still need Plug Adapters specific to the area(s) you'll be travelling (UK style or Euro style). If you don't already have Plug Adapters, check your local Radio Shack, travel stores, Magellans or Rick's travel store.

Cheers!
