Help! My Mother-in-law is insisting that we take our teens (boy-18, girl-16) to see a show at Moulin Rouge. If I understand the show it's basically a topless show a-la Las Vegas only more so. My MIL seems to think it's not that bad. Thoughts?
While there is a historic "cultural" aspect to the can can show at the Moulin Rouge, which I have some respect for... I don't know how "historic" the show is or if it is mostly garish, taudry and expensive.
I don't know your children's interest, but I would think such a show would not be that enjoyable for a them to attend. they will most likely be very out of place, and possibly very self-conscious. They might also be bored. I personally think there are many more appropriate things for them to do in Paris. go with your mother in law and let the kids go someplace else....
thanks, I will find other things to do. Actually, to clarify, it's my mother-in-law who thinks it would be great, not us! Who knew? Maybe the older she gets, the less inhibited...
If you have a good internet connection, you might visit the Moulin Rouge website at www.moulinrouge.fr , and click on the word "Revue". You can watch a video of their latest show, which could help you with your decision. Also remember that Moulin Rouge is very expensive, almost 100 euros per person.
Actually I went to the MR site and did check out a video clip of the show, and it looked pretty good!
But still probably wpuld not be of interest to most teenagers ....
