We had a trip to Morocco planned for late June but have discovered that Ramadan will fall at that time. We do have local people to travel with. I would appreciate opinions on whether this timing would have a seriously negative impact on our trip. We really cannot reschedule.
I'm sure that it will not have any significant impact. One of Rick's recommended restaurants in Tangier does close, but many others don't. Many restaurants are more used by visitors than residents. Even in a private home, I can't imagine you not being welcomed with tea and cookies; they just might not eat them with you.
I have never been to Morocco, but over 20 years ago, a friend of mine went there during Ramadan. She said it was not a problem. If she wanted to eat or drink during the day, she did so at her hotel rather than in public.
