Tom R,
I have to say France, because I know it best and because family connections have made it more accessible for me and because I know the language a bit (Well, better after a few days of immersion around the family dinner table sipping digestifs!) And, of course, because it is wonderful and varied and full of history, art and natural beauty in lots of places and the FOOD!
Italy, likewise, but I must defer to France because of the family connection.
My favorite foreign country is Italy. Loaded with history, great art and great cuisine.
Second favorite is the UK.
In East Asia- Japan
In South America, a tie Peru and Argentina
I already knew his like and having in-laws from India, I can see why he likes the country as a man. It’s a bit different traveling there as a woman.
Favorite foreign country to visit is still Mexico as it has a bit of everything and still close enough to home.
Favorite country I can name (Italy), but it will also have to be in categories! : )
Breakfast & stained glass- France
Colors & Music - Spain
Storybook cuteness & hospitality- Wales & England
Churches, Art & Food and the passeggiata - Italy
Countryside loveliness-Austria
Stunning mountains- Switzerland (although other countries, too)
Ease of speaking - England & Croatia; lesser, Italy.
Favourite to visit is England for the history, a very close second is France.
Favourite country for the food is Mexico, 2nd place isn't even close.
Hi,
Two favourites actually:
France: know the language limitedly, modestly; the culture, language , charm and people fascinate me, absolutely thrilled traveling deep into the country, like the cuisine and style , and much , much more.
Germany: no problem with the language (reading, speaking, writing), easy to navigate, its captivating geography, regional differences, be it NW Germany, the Rhineland, southern Bavaria, Schleswig or from the Elbe to the east the Oder River , Mecklenburg, and along with all the reasons pertinent to France.
UK and Ireland
Was just commenting to a friend how after traveling to London for over 50 years how much I enjoyed its evoling into a food mecca.
Marmite be damned. Literally.
