More re money belts

More questions, following up with the recent thread:
Is there practically/usability wise any difference between a money belt and a "waist stash"?
How can we tell from the descriptions which brands/types offer a belt tie or must go around the waist fully? (There was mention made of the waist tie being more cumbersome).
How does the usability compare between a neck pouch and a deluxe type neck "wallet"?

In all of the above questions, also concerned about how easy it is to take out money, cards when you need them. ..??

Thanks, Pam in Pittsburg, CA

It seems like the differences in all the things you are asking are of a personal opinion, some prefer neck stuff, some waist stuff, etc. That's just a matter of comfort and we are all different. As for what's "easy" to take out money, the point of neck and waist wallets/pouches/whatever are so you DON'T take out money and cards during the day. They are your personal safe. You want them to be as difficult to access as possible, actually!

I use my neck mpouch under my blouse. Easy to duck into a bathroom to access more money. Prior to leaving my room in the mornings, I took out what I thought I may spend that day. Don't take out anymore than you can afford to lose to thieves or pickpockets.

As others have noted, you don't want it too accessible. That being said, when you go to an ATM you want to be able to put money away fairly soon. The main thing I have found is that I want the lightest weight one I can find. Some of them are very bulky. I actually wear both a waistpack as a "deep safe" with credit cards/ATMs, passport, US $$, etc. and a neck pouch that I tuck in at the waist with an ATM or credit card if I expect to need it that day. Daily cash is in a pocket or purse.

Most major department stores should carry something in their luggage department. We belong to AAA so we got ours at the local office. I'm using a waist belt (has an adjustable stretchy belt) and hubby the neck version with a cord. We did see a version that had a tab to slide belt through and then went inside the pants.
