We are debating if we would get the better money exchange rate thru ATM's in Switzerland, Italy and France or thru Chase here in the US. Where do all of you think the best rate is aquired? We will paying for hotels and train tickets with a debit/credit card but will need large amounts of cash for one apt. rental and one boating excursion. At that time we will draw out large amounts of money to pay cash. Thanks in advance for your replys!

Just do a quick search on this site and you will find hundreds of responses to this daily question. IN A NUTSHELL --- debit card at an ATM -- even paying a 1 to 3% currency exchange fee is still way better than anything you will get in the US. Take two cards tied to two different accounts for backup and to obtain a large of cash in a single day. That, too, is discussed at great lengths. Search, search, search !!!!

I laughed at myself as I posted my question THEN read the most recent posts just today. You are right it is a popular question. Think I've got the best answer now and we will use the ATM's in Europe.
