Money/Euro

Hi,
I know Sweden is one country that doesn't use the Euro. We are catching a connecting flight through ARN wondering if the ATM's have Euro's? Thought it would be easier to get Euro's there so we can hit the ground running when we get to our destination.

Thanks for your help,
Wendy

I'm not sure I understand your question.

If you are going to Sweden, you will want Swedish Crowns (Kroner?). As far as I know ATM's in Sweden will dispense crowns only. I've never heard of an ATM that would also dispense Euros in Sweden.

An exchange booth or bank would be able to sell you some Euros but it won't be as good of deal as waiting to use an ATM when you arrive in a country that uses the Euro.

If you are traveling on to Finland or back toward Germany, which use Euros, you can pick up Euros at an ATM in an airport, train station or just about anywhere once you arrive in Finland, Germany (or other destination that uses Euros).

Denmark and Norway also use their own version of the crown but they are each unique currencies and only work in that country (without an exchange loss, think US and Canadian dollar).

ATMs dispense the currency in which they are located. ATMs for euros will be readily and immediately avaialable at your destination.

ATMs (bankomats) in Sweden dispense Swedish Crowns (Kronor). I've never seen an option to get any other currency from a bankomat.

There are currency exchanges (in terminals 2 and 5) but you won't get a great rate there.

Buy your euros in euroland. If you buy euros in Sweden you will get a double whammy on the exchange, once to convert dollars to kronor and again to change kronor to euros.

In some countries, Gatwick Airport in London for one, has ATMs that will dispense either Pounds or Euros.
