Has anyone tried the holster style money belt? Where did you purchase it?
Googled and saw one at this website - http://www.corporatetravelsafety.com/catalog/design-shoulder-wallet-p-1038.html?osCsid=4f309uks9r8jnkeck7pm5ge1k6
I just googled that wallet because I had no idea of what a holster style money belt was. I found this description from their site interesting:
"Worn over or under clothing"
I always wondered where so many people got the brilliant idea to wear a money belt on the OUTSIDE of their clothing!
I took a regular moneybelt and changed it into a holster style which I wear under my clothes. I find it to be very comfortable. I sewed elastic to the narrow end so that I can pull it down to access it in a private place when necessary.
Actually, the way the referenced moneybelt is worn (over one shoulder, under your other arm) is the way I wear the normal neck pouch. Much more comfortable, moves any "bulge" to the side (my bulge in front needs no help) and is still accessible.
Comment about wearing a shoulder wallet over clothing. This is meant for someone who wears a shoulder wallet over their shirt, but underneath a jacket. This way the shoulder wallet is not exposed for anyone to see, however a traveler would have easy access to their money without having to unbutton their shirt or blouse, or lift us their shirt.
Other travelers will use shoulder wallets under sweaters or light weight jackets. For many travelers, a shoulder wallet is a lot more comfortable to wear than a money belt. The interesting thing about this shoulder belt wallet is that it has two separate pockets to hold a variety of items.
Cheri, I am using a neck pouch but plan to wear it holster style. I got mine at REI, it's called Bella something and it's made of lingerie material. I wore it for a whole day and was very comfortable. I think you just have to play around with what you get.
I would like to see decorative money belts. A little Liberty print would do me just nicely much better than boring beige!
Actually, I have seen people wearing the waist and neck pouches completely on the outside of their clothing...not exactly a sensible or fashionable look!
