Monday night travel, Thursday night Spam-fest

It seems the dirt-bags like the overnight Thursday night/Friday morning shift, and they're back.

About 10 reported so far between 3 and 3:30 am PST. Another long Friday for the webmaster.

I'm surprised there's not a filter like:

*[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]

That would eliminate the posting of phone numbers in the title.

I was assuming he would be off today, as Good Friday is a public holiday in the UK, but not seemingly in the US

Just curious, why do people get so worked up about spam posts when they know it's going to be taken care of? Especially in the middle of the night? Has the RS webmaster ever been remiss about timely removal of spam?

Seriously I thought this was going to be a post about a Monty Python festival.

Nope, Good Friday might be recognized by a few employers, but not many. Even Easter, since it falls on a Sunday, would not make the list for any employee working a Monday thru Friday job. It really varies by industry, banks are closed for a few more holidays than is our postal system.

The year I had a weekend job (while in grad school ) as a unit clerk/transcriptionist on a hospital floor a memo was sent in October to me and the other 2 folks who worked that same position. We were told that we needed to collaborate: one of us each needed to cover Thanksgiving, Christmas day and new years day. (At double pay and have the other 2 days off) we each got our first choice, and it was great.

My history on the railways is that if a holiday occurs on a day I was rostered there would be a day in lieu, and if it was on the weekend there would be a holiday on the Monday. This often worked well around Christmas, because not only Christmas is a holiday, so is Boxing Day and then New Years day was very slow.
