"Some" MOBILE PHONES DOWN TODAY.....varies by cities......supposedly the big 3 companies

In case you are traveling and rely on your phone for boarding passes, or you are traveling and having problems reaching family at home via their cell phones, our local news reported nationwide problems with AT&T, Verizon and one other (that I think is TMobile). Phones apparently displaying SOS on screens, but local news say one can still dial 911. We are Verizon and our phones are still working.

Check your local news to verify and follow.

UPDATE:
Just heard a bit more on Today Show...apparently you might have service one minute and then it can show the SOS the next....one of the anchors had experienced that.

So, just know you are not alone, if you are experiencing this.

My spouse just pulled up maps on https://downdetector.com/

You can look at the various carriers and see which cities/areas are affected. It is far from "wall-to-wall" nationwide, but I am sure a real pain for all the cities affected, and there are many. I have no idea if there has been "movement" of which cities are being affected or have been affected..............you get a snapshot in time on the maps.

As of now, it's just the ATT network. Problems were reported by users of Verizon and TMobile but those two companies reported their systems are fine. The issue was their customers trying to reach people on ATT.

I’m on AT&T in Tampa and it’s out here. This is why it’s good to have hard copy prints of boarding passes, etc.

Does no one know how to save data and documents to the internal storage on their devices? I get the desire or need to want backups, but there are methods to do this without service.
