Mobile Passport Control App

I'm thinking about downloading the Mobile Passport Control App and wondering is anyone has had any experience positive or negative using it?

There have been threads about it....

Seems some good, some bad. I'm sure you'll get comments from recent users. I have it downloaded, but I've not flown to the USA since 2013, so haven't had a chance to use it.

We used Mobile Passport a couple of months ago in Atlanta. It's easy to set up and use and we got through the line at the same speed as our traveling companions using Global Entry. I can recommend it.

I've used it on two of my last three trips. It works fine and in both cases (once at Dulles and once at Boston) allowed me to get through immigration and customs with no waiting. I might get the two mixed up.

I think the first time was at Dulles. I got on the airport WiFi when I landed and filed the report. I didn't see signs for Mobile Passport so asked a blue-suiter (customs or "field operations" officer) where to go? She sent me to the kiosks for Global Entry. At the end was a single station with one person dedicated to Mobile Entry and no one in line. Surprisingly, they also sent me to the Global Entry line for my bag. That was slightly slower because the guy was interested in a small gargoyle statue I bought for my son by Notre Dame. It was wrapped up in my dirty clothes bag so I took it out to show him.

The second time was similar. I filed my report using airport WiFi and sailed through - again asking people to point me in the right direction.

The third time, I tried to file the report and it wasn't receiving so I had to stand in line. I could have filed this on the plane. Before I think the requirement was to file within 30 minutes of going through. I had purchased "gate to gate" WiFi on the airplane primarily to file the report, but waited until we hit the ground and the WiFi had been turned off. The system didn't seem to be working when I got in the airport. Now you can file your report up to 4 hours before arrival, so I'll plan to get it done on the plane sooner.

Hope that helps.

We used this returning from Mexico to BWI. Our airline was not on the list for BWI, but I sent an email at the bottom of the page with the airlines before we left and a few days before we departed it was added. I answered the questions as we were taxiing and got the confirmation before we deplaned. We were off the plane and through customs in under 3 minutes! We had to wait for our luggage to get there and for the rest of our party to get through (it was at least 10-15 minutes). We'll use this again for sure!!

Worked perfectly at JFK, allowed us to speed right through. Was pretty useless in ATL. We were lucky to be at the front of the plane, which helped more than mobile passport. Where are you coming back into the US?

I love it. I used it last October when flying through Dulles. I forgot to do my entry before we departed Germany, so as soon as I was off the plane & connected to the WIFI, I was able to load my information. Doing it within the bus ride to the immigration terminal was plenty of time for it to process through the system (but might not always be the case). The line to get through immigration was probably a good 45 min - 1 hr wait but we were through in 10 minutes! I'm sure it's not that quick all the time but it's definitely worth using.

I'll be curious to see what the time is for my husband when he returns from France next weekend. He'll be connecting in Dulles vs Dulles being his final destination.

I used it coming through JFK, and we cleared in five minutes. I like that you can use one Mobile Pass app for everyone in your travel party if you have their information loaded onto your app.

I use and like... Was considering applying for global entry but with app I see no need for global entry.

Used it a couple of weeks ago at LAX - not a good experience but that had more to do with the clueless wonders who work there than with the app itself.
