I is advisable to book a train in advance from Milan Centrale to Finale Liguore . What are the pros and cons of doing so? Also what train line is most appropriate. Thanks.

It is all Trenitalia operated. The Intercity trains are direct for the most part and require a reserved seat, but that is included in the ticket price. The base fare is 26 EUR 2nd class, but well in advance you can get a nonrefundable, nonchangeable ticket for 9 EUR. That is to Finale Ligure Marina.
