Please suggest a hotel in Milan Italy Sunday May 16th near the train station? We have been re routed and are without accomodations. We have Ricks Florence and Tuscany book, however we are without Milan information and feel helpless:) Many Thanks, Nick and Angela

Well, at least you are getting to Europe. I have the RS Italy book from 2009. Listed near the Milano train station are 3 hotels; Hotel Florida (3 stars) www.hotelfloridamilan.com, Hotel Garda (3 stars but cheaper) www.hotelgardamilan.com, and "The Best" Hotel (one star and cheaper yet) www.thebesthotel.it. There is a TI in the central Milano train station, www.milanoinfotourist.com, tel. 02-7740-4318. They are open Sat. 9:00-18:00 and Sun. 9:00-13:00 & 14:00-17:00 according to the RS 2009 RS Italy book.

Stayed at Hotel Berna last week. Two blocks from Milan Central station, $175 euro including amazing breakfast. Great place. Large room and bath. Quiet, safe area. Storage area on bottom level of train station is convenient to stash extra luggage if you need.

We stayed at the Albert hotel a few years ago. It is VERY close to the train station (as in "convenient" with rolling bags).

Their site indicates availability at 90.25€ for a double for your date.

We also stayed at Hotel Berna a few years ago. I booked it on www.venere.com I know I paid less than $175 as the poster stated above, but that was 3 years ago!
The breakfast was amazing...and it was walking distance from the train station and to the Duomo.
