Methodist International Center, Euston Station, London- Is it safe?

Hi! Could use some help here. I just paid the membership fee and booked our stay at MIC near Euston Station in London. Read all the reviews I could online and no one mentioned it being in an unsafe area of London. My sis just calls me to tell me that her hairdresser says "Oh no! You're not staying near Euston! That's a bad neighborhood!" Has anyone stayed at MIC...or in a nearby hotel and can tell me what to expect of the Euston Station/King's Cross Station neighborhoods? Thanks!

I haven't stayed at the MIC, but the area is fine. It USED to be pretty gritty but has been cleaned up in recent years and is perfectly safe. Just take the same precautions you'd take in any other big city.

Euston is fine.

OK it's not the most glamorous area of London but it's not like Kings Cross and the Pentonville Road.

Euston has a high international student population as well as students studying at the Royal acadamy of Dramatic Art ( RADA ). So you may bump into the next Dame Judy Dench or Sir Ian McKellan. One of the advantages is that there are plenty of good cheap cafes in the area - particularly on Gower Street.

It can be a bit noisy during the day because the Euston Road is a major thoroughfare for London traffic. Once you cross over the Euston Road you're in Bloomsbury and not far from Fitzrovia.

Simply stay away from Kings Cross at night and the weekends and you'll have a perfectly safe and enjoyable time.

MIC great, wonderful, interesting travelers, terrific breakfast (english, full) I have stayed often here in several london trips. It is a safe area with amazing mid-east food (ravi shankar's place and much more) everywhere, convenient to transport via euston tube...college of london students, many travelers on british rail, it is close to british library... stay if you can, do not worry about the area.
