Wishing everyone here a Merry Christmas from rain-soaked W. 🇨🇦.
May we all look forward to a New Year filled with peace, good health and smooth travels!
Thank you S J And to you as well
Merry Christmas from Northeastern Oklahoma, where it was about 80 degrees today, and will be again tomorrow. Woo-hoo!
Merry Christmas from West Michigan, 34 deg. F., most of our snow is gone, but still a lot in the woods.. We wish you Peace!
Second greetings for Christmas from NE Oklahoma - and yes these temperatures in the very high 70s are crazy ! I had to go buy some short-sleeved t-shirts.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate 🎄🕯️✨🤶🏼
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone! We’ve got about a foot of snow on the ground here, although the weather was a balmy 30° today.
Merry Christmas from Atlanta (warm here also)! Best wishes to all of you - may we all enjoy the travel we have now - and I hope for much more ahead for us. I am thankful to have found a community. :)
Merry Christmas from what was almost certainly the warmest Christmas Eve in 50 years in the English Lake District (now 5am Christmas Day).
Astoundingly mild.
Not quite tee shirt weather but close to it.
I'd also like to wish everyone on the forum and also Rick, the Webmaster(s) and other staff a very Merry Christmas and many happy travels in the New Year! Hopefully next year will bring peace to all.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate.
Minus 18 (celsius) and had a bit of snow here today, on top of the plenty-of-snow that was already on the ground. But it's supposed to be -3 and sunny tomorrow. Yay!
Hope the New Year brings everyone wonderful travel plans!
Merry Christmas from the Pfalz. 25f, windy, and cloudy. No snow...
Happy holidays from Schwerin, North 🇩🇪.
20.3 °F (-6.5 °C) with little Eastern wind and clear sky. No snow. No ice on "my" one of the seven lakes.
A friend from Berlin just posted "Frohe Weihnachten 🎄" with -9 °C.
Merry Christmas to you too. Wishing you lots of great travels ahead.
a sunny windy and very brisk +3C here in the east of England with greetings for all of you
Merry Christmas from southern Bavaria; everything here is lightly dusted with snow, which at least creates the illusion of a winter wonderland. Shortly after midnight, during the traditional Christmas concert by the local brass band in front of our small fortified church, it was minus 4 degrees with a stiff northwest wind. When we got home, we had to dive deep into the house bar to thaw out again.
On a very different theme I've just seen a notification from the Northern Lighthouse Board (who run all Scottish and Manx Lighthouses) that their brand new work vessel the Pole Star arrived on her delivery voyage in Oban Bay at 10.30am today accompanied by Oban Lifeboat.
I'm not sure that today was the due date, but a Christmas present for all mariners on the Scottish and Isle of Man coasts.
Pictures show blue skies with not a cloud in sight and calm waters, a perfect winter's day.
The is the 5th ship in the history of the NLB to carry that name.
The name seems to be popular for ships. German research icebreaker named "Polarstern" is operated by AWI (Alfred-Wegener-Institut), built in 1982. Successor ship, the new Polarstern is currently under construction in Wismar.
Merry Christmas from Frankfurt. Pretty cold here and windy, but fabulous sun and blue skies!
It was -2 this morning, but 1° now. All week it will be cold like this.
We bundle up and wear long johns!
Went to the city center last night for the Pealing of the Bells and then carol singing by 1000s of people along with the brass band playing from the gallery of the Alte Nikolai. Cold but fun and unique.
Merry Christmas from the Seattle area. We are at 36F right now, but they are calling for a wintery mix later. Hopefully we get on the road before it starts.
We just heard from family in Alaska and they are at -32F and -22F. Warmer than they had been but that is COLD!!!
Happy Holidays to all fellow travel addicts on the forum. We are enjoying a warm, snow free winter in our new home in SOCAL!
Merry Christmas from North Central BC. Minus 20C this beautiful, sunny and snow covered morning !! Just had a flock of pine grosbeaks descend on our mountain ash tree - it's covered in it's red berries. Males have a beautiful rosy coloured feathers over their breast. The perfect Christmas bird.
Merry Christmas from southern Oregon! We had blue skies and sunshine earlier this morning but semi cloudy now. Yesterday we sat in sunshine on the front porch and wished passers-by a happy holiday.
Happy Holidays from Northern California! I woke up at 2:00 this morning thinking I heard the patter of reindeer hooves on my roof. No, it was heavy rain and 50 mile per hour winds. It is now 56 degrees F but feels like 46 degrees. Blue skies, but more rain expected in an hour or so. No complaints because we alway need the rain.
Merry Christmas from the small, backwoods town of Seattle where the sun came out for an astounding 38 seconds this morning (a new December record!), but, to everyone's surprise, it's currently raining.
Happy and safe travels, especially to those venturing forth for their first time.

Merry Christmas to All. For many of you it is evening and winding down. Keep the Happy feeling going through at least the weekend and see how long you can carry it on. ( make it last like Nigel's 'Alphabet' challenge ? )
42F here, with a very low grey drippy cloud cover.
Happily the Christmas Eve windstorm didn't happen and we had hot cooked food and lights last night.
Best wishes for the New Year
Merry Christmas from northern Vermont, where we have had a picture-perfect day with 6" of fresh snow on top of the few inches we've already got on the ground. It's currently 14 degrees (F), on the way to -2 tonight, but thankfully not as cold as Alaska!
A safe, happy, and peaceful holiday season to all.
Merry Christmas from the Ft Worth Arlington area to all of the terrific travel forum community. 80 today, 86 tomorrow (!) but a ‘blue norther’ is blowing in Sunday night and there will be 40+ drop and the sweaters will reappear. Even with the unseasonable weather, there was lots of family and food and presents for the kids so it was a happy day.
Merry Christmas from the pretty part of Idaho! We didn’t have a snowy Christmas, but the mountains & lake are still a nice Christmas scene.
Happy travel planning for 2026, and may all of your flights & trains run on-time! ; )
Happy Boxing Day from the east of England
we started the day with cold, dry and clear - 0 C - and modest wind, about 15 mph. Stayed clear and sunny reaching the blistering heights of 5 C.
Next week will be colder.
Wwweeee I got a memo from Santa!
Memo
To: All Blacksmiths
From: Santa
I have finally caught on that you clowns
have been deliberately misbehaving in order to get free coal. I considered leaving raindeer poo in your stockings but you characters would gleefully burn anything in your forges with a carbon content that didn't cost you anything.
From now on any misbehaving smiths will
receive a stocking full of clinker the only
thing you guys won't put in your forges.
P.S.: Putting a "Welcome Santa" sign
above your forge chimney is not funny,
A coal fire is over five times hotter than
a wood fire

Belated Happy Christmas and early Happy New Year from SE Washington State, USA...an arid, shrub steppe area of the Pacific Northwest. Beautiful sunny skies, but in the mid-30s F. Thankfully, the wind is not wild this week.
