Merry Christmas!

If you are still up, you can see how Santa is doing over on the Norad website: http://www.noradsanta.org/ I especially liked his visit to Reindeer Lake in Canada. I did not know that Donner and Blitzen had family there. Did you know that Santa likes architecture and enjoys seeing the Colleseum and the Great Wall of China every year. Who would have thought?

Just finished stuffing the stockings and lighting a few candles, got the Nuremburger sausages cooking and some brotchen in the oven, and now just waiting for everyone to wake up. In the meantime, thought I would send out Christmas greetings to all of you on the forum. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Jo, thankyou for the Christmas greeting! I would like to wish you (and everyone here) a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year (hopefully a year with lots of travels!).

-EDIT-
After reading other posts, it occurred to me that I should include a weather report as others have done. Here in the usually sunny Okanagan Valley, there was a small snowfall on Christmas Eve, but not really a problem. The temperature has warmed up considerably from the -25C earlier in the week, and on the afternoon of Christmas day it's about -5C.

Unfortunately, I won't be enjoying the usual Christmas dinner as I have to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas night. Oh well, such is life.

Cheers!

I have already gone for a morning walk, a brisk hike up to the ruin of castle Senftenberg.
The roast is simmering in the oven, the house smells wonderful. We celebrated an enchanting Christmas Eve last night, and today I am expecting friends and family for a feast.
Fröhliche Weihnachten to everyone, from Austria.

It's a cool and cloudy day here on the south coast of the UK, Santa has been, the floor is covered with ripped up gift wrap paper and the mince pies are in the oven!

It seems you weren't the only one watching Santa on NoradSanta.org, Jo.

TSA was also following.....they were upset because Santa was flying over the U.S. yet had not gone through proper security at the North Pole before boarding his sleigh: he never walked through the metal detector, never removed his boots, his bags were not screened and the biggest concern of all......Blitzen was on the no-fly list.

Luckily, it all got sorted out and lots of kids are enjoying their presents.

Happy Holidays everyone.....

Oh, and Frank, don't even get started on whether Santa gets the VAT back or not. Seems there were also some problems with his Schengen visa, but Merkel stepped in and put in a good word for him.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Chicago, IL, where 2 degrees fht actually seems like a warm-up, and all citizens are asking Santa for a Governor of our state who--unlike the last two--will not be indicted on federal corruption charges! Perhaps even Santa has his limitations. (:

Merry Christmas-Frohe Weihnacten everyone. Corinna, your description is so realistic and homey that I can almost smell that roast from over here. One day my wife and I hope to spend a Christmas season in the beautiful countries of Germany and Austria.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Hope you all have a nice day. Here in Denver at 8:30 MST it was 40°F, clear, sunny, blue sky, and last week's snow is disappearing.

Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year from Idaho! We even have snow down here in our valley and more expected. Santa hasn't been here yet because he knows we have two health care providers who don't get off work till this afternoon. Santa is arriving at 3:30--if he comes earlier the 3 dogs will get into their stockings! The pumpkin pie is cooling, cranberry sauce is jelling and I've prepared everything possible to have dinner at 5:00pm. This year I don't feel rushed at all which is lovely for me.
It's been an interesting year on the GW board with some new people, some favorites who have left us, and some truly dedicated travelers who continue to help out. (Also a kick to watch the arguments!) I hope Eli and her family are remembering the good times.
Thank you all for keeping my travel dreams in their upright and locked positions!

Thanks, Jo, for the Christmas greeting. I, too, send good wishes for a peaceful holiday and a wonderful 2009 for everyone. Cloudy and 75 degrees today in Southeast Texas, but we saw a RARE 1-2" snow this year though, a couple of weeks ago! Enjoying family and feasting and expecting our first grandbaby around the 4th of July...so it's a very special time.

Merry Christmas from Texas, y'all.

Golly, I just love this site. :-)

Merry Christmas from northern Canada. This is the first year since the early 70's that there has been snow in every part of Canada. The Vancouver/Victoria areas are experiencing what the rest of the country normally contend with. We've been in the -30's to -20's (C) for a couple of weeks now. Santa had to put on his silk underwear this year!

Merry Christmas to you, too, Jo, and everyone else here. We watched Santa on the Norad website all day yesterday. The kids love it and it's a cool geography lesson (my son had no idea how big Russia is).

Greetings from Eastern Ontario, Canada.

This week we have had almost 2' of the white stuff. Then yesterday the rains came and the temperature was up above zero. We now have about 6" on the ground but it is still white.

May I wish each of you and your families a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.

Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel and Feliz Navidad to all from Southern Ontario Canada. The gifts have been unwrapped, we watched the Queen's Christmas Message on television and are now enjoying some rum and eggnog before having our turkey dinner.

Happy travels to all in 2009! In the past three years I have visited France, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy on RS tours. In July I will travel to Spain and Portugal - I enjoy the snow at Christmas but love the sunny summer.

Merry Christmas from Vancouver.
I hope all of you had a joyful day.
We have had about 2 feet of snow in the past ten days!; and it actually snowed today on Christmas Day, which is extremely rare for us!!
It was lovely; stayed in my pajamas all day, even at dinner!
