I have sufficient meds to take on my trip to England, Ireland and the UAE, but do I need the prescriptions (numbers, lab, etc.)? I have a list I keep in my wallet of their names. I would think a list would be sufficient. There is nothing out of the ordinary about them. Substitutes are easily found, but probably would require some medical approval there.
The list is probably sufficient but I always take a copy of the prescription the pharmacy gives with each prescription. I just take the top part and not all the details of the prescription drug. I keep it separate in my suitcase along with copy of my passport, drivers license, ATM card (front and back), tickets, etc.
Audrey. Thanks. Thats a good idea. Never thought of it
Wayne, I have to take several medications and have some medical conditions that medical workers would want to know about in an emergency. I always (travel and everyday)carry an information sheet with all of my medications listed (both generic and name brand), the dose I take, when I take it and what condition it is for. I also list my insurance info, Dr's phone #s, pharmacy's #, and emergency contact info as well a list major medical conditions (I have asthma, high blood pressure, PCOS, etc.) and surgeries /dates. This info sheet has come in handy when I had a severe asthma attack at work (the EMTs knew everything they needed even though I had trouble speaking)and when I was in an accident. If you become ill while traveling, or need a refill because you lost meds, etc. this could be vital. Feel free to private message me and I will share my email address so I can send you a template if you are interested.
