Yes. tenweb.com got me home after I broke my wrist in Switzerland. If you are a US senior citizen on Medicare you do know that you need medical insurance as well, right? Medicare will not cover you abroad and evacuation insurance only evacuates you - check any policy you are considering to make sure it gets you back to the US, not just to the nearest hospital. If you have an American Express card they will insure you very reasonably, bring you home dead or alive (literally). The fee is monthly and quite reasonable and you can cancel when you get home. The main thing: you have to sign up a few weeks in advance of your trip to cover existing conditions. There is also a website mentioned on this forum frequently: insuremytrip.com, which gives you a number of choices.
We buy a short-term membership with Medjet Assist before each of our trips. Luckily we haven't yet had to use their services. Medicare won't cover your medical expenses overseas, but you may have coverage through your Medicare supplemental insurance. Check with your supplemental carrier to find out. http://medjetassist.com/
