Does anyone remember the name of those pop up city maps? They are cartoonish and have major landmarks drawn in. They were so useful, but I don't know what they are called/where to get them. Thanks!
You're right, they were nice. I had one for Boston and about five years ago I gave one for London to my daughter-in-law. Try a large bookstore, I got mine at Borders at the time. I'll have to look in Barnes & Noble next time I go there. Have you checked Amazon? Let us know if you find one!
Followed my own advice and checked Amazon. Found a laminated map for Paris published by "Streetwise Maps". I think that's what I got for London. However, my Boston map was as you described, cartoonish and illustrated. I'd check the publisher and see if they have a map for the location you're looking for. I, for one, am going to buy the Paris one, even though the little free hand-outs they have in Paris hotels work just great. I love maps.
Could it be popout maps? I have one for Florence, absolutely loved it. Used it twice and never got lost! http://www.popoutproducts.co.uk/retail_list_01.htm
Yes, yes! Popout maps! (Got to get my prepositions straight!) On those medieval streets, I find using the landmarks, rather than the streets signs, more helpful. (and no, I'm not a guy!)
Many thanks!
Anna & Debra... I was looking for Madrid. Found them both on eBay and Amazon. However, all the eBay sellers were out of country.
Thanks again for you efforts!
