We are interested in taking a 10 day trip to Malta. Is there enough to see in Malta to justify a stay of this duration? Any thoughts of worthwhile tours or reasonable places to stay would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Robert
Will you have the baby with you on the trip?
Have you seen this recent trip report? https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/trip-reports/malta-trip-report
I did a 7 night trip to Malta a few years ago and didn't get to all I wanted to see, so I think 10 days would be great. Here is my trip report from that tri - https://www.fodors.com/community/europe/malta-in-july-1072392/

Yes, 10 days would be great. Consider splitting your time in Gozo as well, for a different feel.
Apart from family package holidays far back in the 1970s, we first went to Malta to sightsee for about 10 days around ten year's ago. We split the time 70:30 between staying in Valletta to see the main island and an hotel in Gozo. We didn't run out of things to see, but we took a pretty relaxed itinerary. We've been back a couple of times since for shorter stops - the food has improved markedly in recent visits.
If you're busy tourists then I think you can see Malta's principal sights in 5 or 6 days. I highly recommend getting the Bradt guide - they're always the best guidebooks out there, of course, but they don't bother with a lot of Europe; however they do have one for Malta, thankfully.
Malta has an interesting mix of sights, such as the ancient temple ones, the knights' buildings and those from the British/WWII.
