Thanks, Priscilla! I have been gone during parts of the summer for about 7 years. And in dry West Texas, even 2 weeks is too long to leave plants outside and expect them to live. In moving toward saying goodby to this June/July’s trip, I am looking forward to once again planting a vegetable garden since I will be here to keep it growing. :)

I've been creating a spread sheet with the items of clothing for a hiking trip and their respective weights. My goal is always for 15 lbs. or less in a 21 inch RS roller bag for carry-on. I love my luggage scale.
If the bag is overweight it's easy to see what I could take out. And, being honest, there is always something I could live without or could be stuffed in my pockets. The Kindle weighs 8 ounces so that can go in my purse.

Oh, I don't know. Lots of things to do when a young gentleman is home from the plague closing everything (including his school).

You could always invent the Calculus, a new theory of Optics, and Gravity in your idle time. :)

But he took two years, let's hope this is nowhere near that.

(snip)

Over two miraculous years, during the time of the Great Plague of 1665-6, the young Newton developed a new theory of light, discovered and quantified gravitation, and pioneered a revolutionary new approach to mathematics: infinitesimal calculus.

Going back and finally processing my photo backlog from the past 2-3 years of travel. That'll keep me pretty busy for a while.

Priscilla,

I've always got a backlog of projects to work on, so won't have any trouble keeping busy. This will probably be a good time to move some photos of my trips to Europe onto a digital photo frame in my living room, so that I can reminisce and at least dream of travel.

I could also start working on my annual renovation project, although I haven't decided yet what that will be. And of course I always need to work on drum practice.

Travelmom,

A vegetable garden sounds amazing!

I have a large dog that likes to dig, so it’s almost impossible to keep a nice garden!

I do grow some herbs (in pots) on my front steps😉

Leslie,
Good for you! Enjoy your camping trip!
Where are you going?

RobertH,
Thanks for sharing that interesting link!

Thank goodness for all the geniuses of this world!

Cala,
Thanks for that information!

David,
Great idea, I need to do the same!

Stay safe everyone!

I love to read, so I have been doing a lot more reading. Recently finished There There by Tommy Orange, The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley, and Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware. Today I started reading The Secrets We Kept by Lara Prescott! And trying to go out for a walk every day, too!
