Traveling to Spain in July by air from USA. However, would like to continue on to Bordeaux, then to London Luten (airport). Planning to visit friends in each country so would be staying a couple of days in each place, departing London for USA. Any mass transportation suggestions? Train? Planes? NO autos. Too complicated.

Take a look at the website Rome2Rio. Once you type in where you are starting and where you are going, it gives you every transportation option, travel times for each, and approximate cost. You can put in dates for more specific info and ticket prices.

I expect that flying will be both faster and cheaper for both legs; see also www.skyscanner.com.
How to Look Up Train Schedules and Routes Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it. But it doesn't sell train tickets for France and Spain, and the price of those depends on how far ahead you reserved them (2-4 months ahead for best rates).
