Luxembourg Day Trip

Hello! I have a day trip to Luxembourg booked in about a week and a half, flying in and out from LCY on LuxAir. (Fully aware this is kind of crazy, but I'm hoping to snag a passport stamp by flying in from the UK, lol!)

Do you have recommendations on a general itinerary of what's a must-see in the area? I enjoy castles, musuems, nature, shopping, etc. It sounds like a bus is the best way to get from the airport into the city centre? Are there any items special to Luxembourg that I should keep an eye out for?

Thanks for any info you can provide! :)

Sheena,
I believe all public transportation in Luxembourg is free. There is also an American WWII cemetery where George Patton is buried.

Yes, all public transportation in the entire country is free.

In Luxembourg City, I suggest a visit to the Casements and the Old Town.

There are Youtube videos about one day visits to Luxembourg.

Opposite the Ducal Palace is an awesome café, The Chocolate House... enjoy!

I second the casements and general old town.

The Grund area down below and the parkland west of it are worth walking around.

Doubt you'll have time for the cemetery.

The Ducal Palace will likely be closed.

If you have a clear day, I suggest the Restaurant SixSeven atop the Galeries Lafayette. A drink or lunch with a great view of the city.

On my visit I enjoyed the National Art and History Museum.
