Luxembough Train station to Wasserbillig Docking Area

Good Day,
I am visiting Luxembough this Saturday and will be staying right by the train station. Then on my 4th day, I need to make my way to an AMA river cruise that docks at Wasserbillig and the street address is, Esplanade de la Moselle. I downloaded the Rome2rioptyltd app which shows me I can take a train or bus to Wasserbillig but it gives me options to go to the City Centre or the Gare. From either of those locations, it looks too far to walk. I called the local Tourist office and they suggested a cab from Wasserbillig.

Would any fellow travelers or Luxembough locals be able to assist me in the best way to get to the ship?

I would so appreciate the advice!

If I were doing that I would take a train to the Wasserbillig station (on the route towards Trier) and a taxi from there.

That is outstanding news that the ship is just 1k ft from the Wasserbillig train station. I have downloaded that app but my satellite button was not working on my iPad so thank you so very much.

I can catch the train from the Luxembough Gare to the Wasserbillig Gare and roll my bag over to the AMA ship.

Again, thank you both so much.

Hi Kathy

Just found your information.. we are in a similar situation.. we are coming in from Paris on the TGV train and we need to get to the Wasserbillig dock.. to take our AMA waterway cruise the same day.

We arrive in Luxemburg at 1:00Pm.

Looking at the taxi or shuttles.. they want a crazy rate..
Is the train station easy to get around and take the next train (CFL train) to Wasserbillig ??
Any idea how much walking we would have to do ??
We do have a few in our group who has limited walking .. what's your suggestion.. from the train station to the port ?
IS there a shuttle service or bus that easy to take from the train station?

Thanks
Ilene

This is an old thread, but I can tell you this. There is a train from Luxembourg station to Wasserbillig every 30 minutes and it takes 30 to 45 minutes to get there. At Wasserbillig station, you walk through the tunnel that runs under the tracks to the river which will be right in front of you. Turn right and walk along the river for about 1/4 mile and the boat should be there. 1/4 mile is a 5 minute walk for a healthy person, so maybe your friends can manage. Otherwise call a taxi. It is such a short distance, but if you have a lot of luggage and people with mobility issues, might be for the best. As a former taxi driver, I'd say this run deserves a big tip.
