I am traveling with my husband and 2 kids for 2 months in Europe. My husband and I have traveled with carry-on, convertable backpacks before and are certain that we will have enough room to pack what we need. I am worried about finding luggage that the children can manage that will also carry most of their clothing and toys....any recommendations? We will all want separate daypacks too I think. Thanks for your help

Just a suggestion: Go to a good luggage store one that specializes in luggage and have your girls try out a variety of smaller roll-aboards. I suspect they can fit their clothes and personal items into a small bag thatn your and your husband can. See it the length of the handle works for their size, limit the weight the put in the bag to 14 pounds or so, and use a child's backpack for their daybags so they fit their little frames. Then see if they can manage to pull the roll-aboard while wearing their little daybags. There's nothing like a trial run, so once you decide on bags, go home, pack, and go out for an hour of walking and see if everyone can manage to push, pull or drag their own items. Parents can help with the lifting onto trains and busses, but the girls will need to be able to manage on the streets, for the most part.
