On the Rick Steves' packing tips for women for Europe site there's a picture of a woman with what seems like the perfect pack. What kind is it and where would you get it?

It appears to be an older model of the Rick Steves convertible carry-on. It is still sold, but is made with a different material now.

Both the older model and the "new" redesigned Back Door bags are available on this website. Click the "Travel Store" link at the top.
The design is basically the same with the two models, however the newer model is also equipped with a waist belt. Given the size of the bag, that's only functional if the user fits the torso range.
