Hi, Wife and I were to fly to Rome tomorrow. I had gone with non-refundable tickets with an additional fee for the seat assignment/luggage check-in. Web is now set up for assigning vouchers with a bonus $50 for accepting the voucher but a refund requires a call. My wife is not in control of her time off so I tried a refund. My 2:00 pm call from the SF bay area went straight to a person. Zero issues with a full refund within 5 min for both our tickets and our extras. I am looking forward to flying with these guys when things open up again.

My experience was almost as good. I was on hold for about 10 minutes. The agent presented me with the voucher option, but when I said I still would prefer a refund, she went ahead and processed it.

I initially had the same good experience with Lufthansa when I requested a refund instead of a voucher for my cancelled flight. That was over a month ago and I still have not received the refund on my credit card. Furthermore, Lufthansa has stopped responding to my DMs on Twitter.
Has anyone received their actual Lufthansa refund yet?

Wow! Your post gives me hope! Our flights are in mid-June to Italy and all I've seen on line is a voucher and travel must be complete by 12/31/2020. I guess I'll wait to call until our flights are closer.

Kenneth We called Lufthansa last night and was told that our refund is "still processing." We requested an email confirming that we will receive a full refund. Nothing yet.

The phone number I called for my refund was 1-800-645-3880 ext 9115.
You can call this extension directly on your cell phone by adding the extension to the 1-800-645-3880 phone number before you dial; Type in phone number and then hold "*" button for a few seconds until it turns into a ","; then enter the 9115 extension number and then hit dial.

I had a similar experience. My Frankfurt flight was cancelled. I waited until three days before flight time to make my call. I called on a Saturday night @ 8:30 pm PDT. I grabbed my flak jacket and Uzi, cuz I figured it was gonna be a fight. I had a refund in seven minutes. It supposed to be processed within ten days. Time will tell...
