Given their recent finanacial troubles, does any have, or is any one planning on booking their low cost fares to Europe?
Thanks Evan. I guess my concern is, since the Spanish government just floated Spanair 10 million EURO, wouldn't you be a little skittish about booking a flight tagged with a Spanair flight #?
If you look at most if not all of their trans-atlantic flights that pop up on Kayak.com and other sites, they are all operated by continental airlines. I know about fares to geneva via madrid or barcelona on continental and swiss, but it's a code share with spanair. Just an observation of mine. check www.flyertalk.com for some other good fares or "mileage runs" as they call them. EVan
Maybe they're trying to save on fuel costs by just skimming the treetops. ;)
On the contrary, Scott, the loan puts them in a better position than they have been in for some time. Now is probably a better time to book with them than it was previously.
Thanks all - looks like the sub $600 round trips have gone away - I still would've been hesitant to book a flight 3 months out thru a company having a "financial emergency" - seems like too much risk in the "high risk, high reward" category.
I'm flying DC to Geneva via Madrid on Spanair for $450 roundtrip during Spring Break. We're flying on a combination of Aer Lingus, Swiss and Spanair. Wish us luck!
