Lots to prepare and not enough time!

I am going to Europe for 2 weeks in July (London, Amsterdam and Ibiza Spain). I work in a camp for construction, which keeps me away from home for 20 days at a time, giving me 8 days off. However, I will be staying at my job for the whole month of June and into the first week of July before I go, to help facilitate with earning some more days off or keeping at a good level for my trip as I have only taken a few vacation days. I am starting to panic a bit with stuff that I need to organized. I get to go home for two days tomorrow, because I have an appt, and then will be home almost 2 full days before I leave for Europe.
Do you have any suggestions, for packing lists, things not to forget etc...?
Anything is greatly appreciated!

Hi Nicki,
Do you have a good guidebook that you could use to help you make some initial plans? For your trip Rick's 2009 "Best of Europe" (or other guidebook)or you can get a lot of info from this site. Here's a sample:

General Packing List

To make a packing list, I mentally go through the day and write down what I'll use in 24 hours. For example, I need something to sleep in; then when I get up, I need shower things, shampoo etc, toothpaste & brush; then I'll be getting dressed, so underwear and clothes to wear.
Then I imagine what I might want to wear- and from the look of your intinerary, you'll need a couple of things for warmth as well as very warm weather.
Finally outer wear and shoes.

Also, I make a list of everything I must do before I leave home, like things to turn off, bills to pay, copies of all important documents.

I think if you make those lists now, while you're away from home, you'll feel better prepared and not so worried!

Have a great trip and remember, even if you do forget something, you can probably buy it in Europe- and maybe have a nice souvenir into the bargain.
Best wishes, Maggie.

Nicki, don't panic,, remember, other then your Passport, ATM and Credit cards,, everything else is available in Europe, so if you forget toothpaste or shampoo , no big deal.

Closing up your home as suggested( mail and paper stopping etc ) is a priority, but since you work at camp I am sure you have a system already in place for details like that.

PHONE(Important!!) your bank and Credit card company to give them dates you are out of country,, if you don't they sometimes cut the card off for being used in a foreign country,, thinking it was stolen.

Pack meds you will need, swim suit(Ibiza) , a skirt or sundress, few t shirts ,, jeans or slacks, a rain/wind breaker, and some dam good walking shoes,, and off you go.. yahoo , holiday.
