Are you looking for inexpensive air fares? Today, CheapOAir is advertising reduced international air fares. Not sure how long the sale is on for. Just thought I'd let everyone know.
Yes I am, and it does look like this website has my fare for $1937 when the best I've found so far is $1977. Not cheap, but $40 bucks is better than a swift kick in the groin. You just have to watch fares and buy without delay when you're ready. $40 in savings is okay, but it's not enough to make me buy right at this moment. I still have time.
Check out Icelandair. Obviously it depends when and where you are going and coming from, but if you don't mind changing planes (or, like me, doing a 3 day stopover to see Iceland) you can get pretty good fares. Toronto-Amsterdam with 3 day stopover in Iceland $895 canadian, return.
Michael, Just curious if the Cheapo fare includes the fee they will charge? If thats so, then the fares may be identical. And if thats the case, the best thing is to buy directly from the airline. In fact, I'd pay the $40 extra to buy from the airline.
It included all taxes and all fees, so it really was a $40 savings, but I'm with you on booking directly with the airlines. Back in the day, the airline sites were almost always more expensive, but that's not the case anymore. There are lots of advantages to booking directly with the airline, such as making sure you're notified about itinerary changes. This doesn't always happen when you book through a third party, and you can read about some of the issues it has caused people right here on the old Helpline. I track fares on lots of different sites, but when it comes down to buying time, I always go to the airline directly (domestic or international...doesn't matter). Anyway, $40 isn't enough to get me to act now or to buy with this third party. Don't get me wrong, I know lots of people book through third parties all the time and have no trouble whatsoever...I just don't do it personally.
