Long weekend in early december - WHERE would you go??

Currently living in Barcelona. We have a long weekend in early december and would love to go somewhere, and are having that ¨too many amazing places to see¨ dilemma. Would love to hear about your favorite long weekend destinations in Europe. We have 18 month old twins but are frequent travellers. We love cities, but can also swing it in the country. Christmas lights/markets a plus but not required.

Is this the same question as yesterday, or is there a nuance I have missed? Were the answers yesterday unacceptable?

If you turn a question into a dialog it helps narrow down. Perhaps you don't realize that you can reply to your own question....

Not sure what you mean! I posted something similar on the Switzerland forum, as at first we thought we may go there, but then changed it to general europe. Only got one response there, maybe you´re thinking of a similar post that wasn´t me?

Berlin would be my choice. Lots of accommodation options and Christmas spirit/markets would be in full swing.

Another vote for Berlin - public transport is good and it's flat and easy to get around with youngsters.

The time you are going - you could enjoy the Christmas Markets in Munich, Vienna, Strasbourg , many other places. I went on an 8 day trip just to see the markets and it was wonderful. Several activities for the kids (rides, animals, lights,......)
You can do a good search of just Christmas Markets and see where you might go.
Vienna was my favorite - but enjoyed all of them. (several rides for the kids)
Many of the websites have lots of photos and maps of the markets.
