Lonely Planet on Kindle IPad App

Does anyone have experience with Lonely Planet guides on Kindle, viewed on the iPad Kindle app? My wife and I are planning an itinerary where there is not a single guidebook, or even two guidebooks that would ideally cover it. We ordered the hard copy of Rick Steves Warsaw/Gdansk/Krakow, but the Germany part (Goerlitz, Dresden, Berlin) hardly seems worth carrying a 1,000 page Germany book. The 400 page Rick Steves Berlin book seems like overkill for four nights in the city, and does not include Dresden or Goerlitz. He no longer includes the latter in his Germany book, either. Amazon offers Lonely Planet guides on "Kindle Unlimited" for a reasonable monthly charge, and even has a free trial. These would cover Goerlitz and Dresden on some basic level, also Wroclaw, Poland where we will stop for an afternoon in transit. I don't need a guidebook for hotels or restaurants, more sights and logistics. So, what are your experiences with LP guidebooks in Kindle on IPad?

I have a couple kindle Lonely Planet guidebooks that I use on ipad and they are fine. The ToC has links to all the sections so it is pretty easy to navigate. Basically, I believe it is the same content as the print books, but laid out for Kindle so content fits nearly on the screen.

I also bought an LP Kindle guide (Baltics) for my tablet and it worked out fine.

But sometimes, I just scan pages from travel books so I can have them on the tablet (and phone). Not as good as the Kindle version with links, etc. but still usable. Much better than ripping pages out of a book, but it can be time consuming! My local library has a good selection of travel books; I have been known to scan small sections of them.

I like Michelin Green Guide for destinations that are otherwise off the travel guide circuit. They have tons of basic information on just about everywhere. As far as I know, however, they don't produce them in a Kindle version. Have you checked Rough Guide? Lonely Planet isn't as good as it once was (maybe Poland is still okay?).
