Lonely Planet free Aps til Thursday

I just read on another forum that Lonely Planet is offering free aps for many of the European cities until Thursday, to help those who are stranded. These normally cost 10$, so might be a good deal for those of you with iphones.

I don't have an iphone, so can't check it out personally, but thought some of you might be able to.

I downloaded all that I could find for free last night, after I saw an article on Yahoo. I'm just wondering if they stay free! They might have an "off" time when this natural disaster has finally passed, and they will ask for a payment or they won't work.

I downloaded them all a few days ago and today I see that updated versions are available for download. Curious, I only pulled down the 'Moscow' guide. I didn't spot that it was different in any immediately noticeable way. Has anyone found a problem (anything of substance lost) in these newer versions? ... any reason not to pull down the rest of the updates?

Ellen, it's my understanding (and has been my experience with my itouch) that if an app is free when you acquire it, it is always free, as are any updates. You can even then install it again on another device (say, iPad) because it shows in your account that you have already "purchased" it. these apps were a great 'steal' for sure!!!
